President Trump has weaponized the term ‘fake news’ to discredit stories he doesn’t like, eroding America’s trust in a free and truthful press. To fight back, the Society of Professional Journalists, the nation’s oldest and largest journalism organization, trademarked the term and sent cease & desist letters every time it was misused. Mr. President—consider yourself served.
